An unapologetic embrace of the “wonderful world of unparenting,” Jennifer L. Shawne’s Baby Not On Board is a sharply written romp supplemented with sly illustrations by Anoushka Matus. The book includes chapters like Other People’s Children (“Keeping your cool in a world filled with drool”). While Shawne pokes gentle fun at babies and parents, it’s all in the spirit of helping the childfree feel good about their decision in a culture that isn’t always sure what to make of them. One of the author’s nice touches is to include an afterward on “Changing your mind without losing face.” A definite addition to a collection of books on living the childfree life.
